In between cleaning off newborns and trying to prepare for medical school thousands of miles away from the USA I’ve been scheming about summer plans for the blog. I am excited because I have a little bit of time to lay some great groundwork for the site. Med school will be tough, but I’m confident I will set aside the time to continue contributing to Pre Med Journey.
Based on feedback and brainstorming, here are some changes to be looking for in the coming months.
More Personal, Less Personal
More personal stories about my pre med journey, less posts that feel like journal entries. I will not have ER Scribe stories to post, and not all my experiences in med school will be applicable to the pre med life. As you know from yesterdays post, I’m no longer anonymous, so you’ll find me mention specific palces (and perhaps people) more often.
Guest Posts.
I have been in contact with bloggers with a similar passion to help pre med students and we will be trading posts in the near future.
A Consistent Posting Schedule.
I am commited to posting new articles every Monday and Thursday. Pressing site issues or great links that I cannot wait to share may pop up more frequently, but at the very least you can expect new content Mondays and Thursdays.
Posts About Summer Issues.
For the next two months topics will include the MCAT, the application process, thriving as a pre med student, taking summer classes, more ideas to enjoy the summer etc. In August articles concerning school will start including how to save money on textbooks, guides to basic pre med classes such as Biology, Chemistry and Organic Chemistry and time management skills.
A new logo. I’m stoked about this. This will probably show up at the end of June when I get back to the US.
So those are the plans. As always, I appreciate any feedback. Hope you’re enjoying summertime!
